The best pictures in your albums are our main mission
Do not spend time searching for a place to take iconic photos. We show you only top spots and specify absolutely exact coordinates! This is all the more useful for you, because this does not always match with the exact location of the sights itself!
However, for high-quality images at night, it is better to use a tripod.
We especially recommend the so-called "White Nights Time" - approximately from the end of May to the middle of July. The best time for romantic walks and photos during this period is early morning, about 4 - 4:30AM. In the pre-dawn, the city looks particularly magical.
You will get the best shots from the side of St. Isaac's Square
and the monument to Tsar Nicholas I
We do not recommend photographing the cathedral from the opposite side (Side of Alexander Garden and Admiralty), since the cathedral is very large - you must to move some distance from the object. But here you can`t get good pictures - many trees.
In addition to 'iconic photo'
, our recommendations - to photograph the cathedral at an angle. For example from side of the Astoria Hotel
and Central Exhibition Hall
(Manege). Do not miss the great views of St. Isaac's Square, the Admiralty and the Neva River from the colonnade of the cathedral! Admission there is very inexpensive!
